Amazing Writing Tips

Made With Canva

I’m not here repeating the same stuff you read in every other article regarding writing. I’m also not going to guarantee that these will work for you as they do for me. Writing is an extremely personal endeavor and each person is stimulated creatively by something different.

My dreams inspire me so I keep a journal beside my bed to jot down my dream inspired ideas right when I wake up and before they disappear into Neverland.

I also literally write in my sleep sometimes. It’s a lot like sleep talking, but it’s sleep writing. Also, it’s completely illegible.

If I did such, which I don’t, I would definitely be inspired with tons of ideas. Ideas from the mundane to the potentially award-winning and possibly even worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize. But, it is illegal in Georgia, so I cannot partake in that yet.

That’s right. Just read and keep up with the news. Write about it and create your own spin on it. Just like FOX and CNN does. Make people see it your way! Your propaganda, I mean opinion, matters too! Such is the power of the word.

The media is a very powerful force and to underestimate that is your own folly.

One Note

I like to write my first drafts in the one note app. Not only because I can use the voice mode to dictate my extremely fast thoughts, but because the font is beautiful. I know that’s silly, but I like a nice, girly font.

<a href="http://This planner is amazing and has gotten me so organized.

If you look around, inspiration can be found everywhere. You just have to live with your eyes open.

6 Tools For Content Creation

Made Using Canva – I don’t know how to use a typewriter.

Is it inspiration or plagiarism?

As much as I hate the articles that everyone writes on the same topic, I feel like no one is using the tools that I use to increase creativity and productivity. So, I have come to save the day. I’m gifting you with a list of the tools I use to be creative and productive.

White Wine

The tipsier I am, the more enjoyable I am. To others and to myself. Having a slight buzz also makes me really good at pool/billiards. That is in addition to evolving into a content ideas machine. If it makes sense to me, then it’s done it’s job. Also, I am a lot nicer after a glass or two at the end of a long day. Or 10:30 am, if that day is particularly stressful.

Every story I have that nobody believes is a result of my children. The impossible can and will happen as a result of their malarkey. My constant inability to know what the hell to do is a never-ending abyss of article topics.

Don’t judge me. How do you think I have parented all these kids by myself? Or mostly by myself, until I got remarried recently.

Celexa is amazing in my opinion. I’m pretty sure I would not be who I am today without it. Alive, that is.

Music is life and gets me all up in my feels. I use these emotions and images that they invoke to stimulate ideas. For example, when I listen to that Adam Levine song, I imagine what my life would be like now if I had met him when I was 20. Then, suddenly an article on why men should have tattoos forms in my mind.

Social Media

I lurk and I hide behind my phone screen while scrolling the comments on social media. I have Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and Facebook. Facebook is where I really get a good view of drama. Twitter provides me with comic relief and surprise at the sheer venom of strangers towards one another. They all provide me with content.

I am a property manager of many rental houses in every socio-economic class in my city. This provides me with a plethora of stories, excess stress, sometimes bruises, and dumba** stunts to use in my content.

For instance, my tenants inspired this article.

I hope that my tools will prove to be invaluable to you. But, if they aren’t, please don’t leave rude comments like my first experience with a troll this week. She left a rude comment and then immediately blocked me so I couldn’t respond. She obviously has issues.

5 Ways To Find Fresh Content Ideas

I have been writing forever, but only a few months here on this platform. I have noticed a trend in articles about monthly earnings and content generation. And by a trend, I mean everyone is copying that one guy.

With that being noted, I have nothing much to contribute in regards to the earnings, so I will share some of the ways I come up with ideas.

Pinterest should just change its name to contact board because so many ideas are available right there for your grabbing. I’ll look in the today, following, and for you sections for inspiration.

Pinterest is also a great place to do research for articles that you might be playing around with in your head. It will need to be fact checked for sure, though.

Another good thing to use for ideas are newsletters that may come to your email. That’s why I sign up for as many as possible. My Apple newsletter is especially helpful in keeping up with current events. Reading another blog might stimulate an idea as well

I also like reading newsletters so I can know the minds of my competitors and, in one case, the super arrogant man I am determined to defeat on Medium.

I have used my surroundings many times to spark my creativity. I have used music, conversations, and scenery. My family, my experiences, and my extremely regular failures have also played a part in many of my musings. My amazing street cred, collection of hotel soaps, and former life as a gypsy fortune teller have also provided me with plenty to offer in my writings.

The news is full of current events, made up completely events, and past events that have been twisted to fit today’s agenda. You can take all of this garbage and put your own spin on it.

If nothing stimulates you or catches your fancy, just pretend something happened. Then write about it and maybe you can cause a viral or global panic. Fingers crossed.

My Sister

Not your sister, my sister. That’s right. I am offering her up for you to write about. There are so many things she does and qualities she’s missing as a human, that you will be ruminating for days on the possibilities.

That is the beauty of writing. There are so many common topics, but you don’t ever get the same exact opinions twice. Every writer has his or her own unique voice to lend to the situation. Even some morons that I’m tired of hearing from. Even politicians if they have had a few drinks.

Finding the Time to Write

Ways to Make More Time in Your Day

I work a full time job as a real estate agent in addition to managing one hundred and eighty seven rental properties. I am on call for twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. These two jobs alone keep me busy from forty five to sixty hours a week. Then I get home and the real work begins. The job of Mom and wife.

A lot of times in my life, I never get asked, “Kylie, how do you find the time to write? You have six kids, two dogs, two birds, a turtle and a husband!” What can I say? When you love to do something, you will do anything to find a way to make it happen! Nonetheless, I have had to make some allowances in my lifestyle to make time for my writing career. I can’t quit my jobs just yet so I had to make minor adjustments in other areas of my life.

I have not watched television, including Netflix or Hulu, in seven or more months (what I hear on the television as my husband watches doesn’t count as I am diligently working away). I don’t even miss it that much, although I have been known to get sidetracked now and then when Naked and Afraid is on. When that happens, I self punish real quickly with a flagellation session and I tend not to do it again. I still read all the time though. There’s just no way I’m going to give that up for anything.

I’m already forty (ish) years old, so I figure I’ve already done as much as humanly possible to help my skin out. Are those charcoal masks and eye creams really worth the effort I’ve been putting into it? Or that fifty dollar exfoliating polish? I don’t think so. So, I’ve stopped washing my face on Tuesdays. That cutback alone gives me an extra fifteen minutes a month for writing.

The radio in my car died so I took that as a sign from God that I was not supposed to listen to music. Instead, I think about all the articles that I am not qualified to write on my forty minute commute to the office. But really, who gets to make the decision if someone is qualified or not?

To save time during the week, I have stopped using shampoo and only use conditioner. My hair seems to be a little bit greasy, but I have definitely gained at least 30 minutes for the month in writing time. I’ve also saved a dollar fifty. #Winning

I am so efficient at texting that I thought I would save time in my life by shortening all of my vocabulary to text format. For instance, instead of telling someone I will be right back, I just say BRB. Instead of laughing, I just say LOL. This has really saved me countless hours of time better spent writing. A lot of people around me seem perplexed by this, but I know what I’m doing and that’s all that matters.

I have reduced my water intake from one glass to none. I’m dizzy and my hair is falling out, but I have a lot of time to write.

I have always had what is known as RBF. That stands for resting bitch face to those of you that are not plagued with this horrible condition. I used to hate it because people got the wrong impression of me all of the time but now I love it! It saves me so much precious time and gets me out of countless conversations. I’m currently trying to figure out how I can make the face in RBF even bitchier!

I have really saved a lot of time by cutting out my weekly meal planning routine. Now, instead of worrying about all that, we just eat tacos every single night. They are extremely mobile so that means I can also cut corners by eating them in the shower.

LOL, I just cut this one out completely. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

This article, along with all of my other ones, is probably not as helpful as “How Much Money I Made Last Month” or any of the other ones that seem to be plagiarized on a constant basis. But inquiring minds never asked me, so I thought I would let you all know how I get it done.

I try to stay humble even though I get massive amounts of things done on a daily basis and I’m super awesome.

I’m not saying I’m Superwoman, but no one has ever seen us together in the same room at the same time. Do with that what you will.
